DEKRA posts 2020 results

May 3, 2021

IIOA member DEKRA posts its 2020 results, with a headline of revenue of 3188.2m EUR, down 6.5% on 2019.

Within this, the Audit Service Division saw a small decline between 2019 and 2020 from 81.2m EUR to 81m EUR.

For the future, DEKRA believes that the economic environment will recover slightly in 2021, but this will be subject to volatility and variation by region. They quote the World Bank who expect global GDP to rise by 4% in 2021, with example variations from 3.4% in the US to 7.9% in China.

DEKRA expands on this by noting that, ‘underlying economic conditions are becoming more challenging primarily attributable to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical challenges.  Protectionist efforts have led to trade barriers between markets and regions. Political instability in key economic areas is increasingly weighing on development’. DEKRA believes the above and other factors will lead to a 3% to 4% revenue growth in 2021.
